For over 50 years, Metrov has focused on mastering traditional techniques as well as exploring new mediums that continue to blossom around him. He has been far more enthusiastic toward experimentation than in seeking gallery renown. Born in East Los Angeles, Metrov began his professional life in New York City in 1970 working as a designer/illustrator for world-renowned Push Pin Studios. At the same time he worked as apprentice to the iconic Roger Hane, painter/designer of the original Carlos Castaneda book covers.
